The
continuing Adventures of Miss Ruffle |
|
|
|
166..... Ruffle had been home just 10 days, she
was tired, sleep deprived and Raffles had taken the decision, that she
needed HELP! It was Thursday morning and a little pair of figures appeared
at the door of the cottage. Ruffle heard a gentle knock............. |
|
167..... " I wonder who this can be?" she said to
Snuffles, who really was not that interested, he just wanted MORE attention.
He liked being carried EVERYWHERE, but Ruffles arms were very fragile
and she wished she could put him down ...just for 1 minute. He really
was a VERY demanding cub. She carried him to the door and invited the little
visitor in. |

168...... "Gutten Morgen" said the little bear,
"my name is Hildegard, Hildegard Henrietta Hoffman. I have come for das
job.....Ma'am, die position von "Aupair" for das Kind, sorry, I mean
child". Ruffle was confused, she had not asked for an "Aupair", but
maybe Raffles for once, had been thinking. That was a VERY scary thought,
but most considerate of him. So Ruffle took the beautifully leather bound CV
from Hildegard and read all she needed to know. This bear was perfect, just
perfect. Now at last she could have her right arm back.. for just a
minute. "Your HIRED" Ruffle said. Start today...start ...NOW! |
|
169.... With that Hildegard placed Snuffle
in his play pen and said "babies need to know that is good to play on their
own sometimes, Mother needs a rest " she told the little fellow ( who had
inherited his fathers rather "not-interested" expression) Hildegard thought
he was very sweet, very unusual , but very sweet. She noticed they had quite
a bit in common, neither of them had a very pronounced mouth line,
they both had rather cute horizontal noses...she felt she could be very
happy here, as long as he did not....screammmmMMMMM! But.. too late, Snuffle
was not used to being in his play pen...he wanted his mmmmmmuuuuuuuuMMMMMMMM! |

170...... Hildegard tried all the usual
distraction techniques, the rattle.... |
|
171...... Pushing him in his push
chair........... |
